My name is Chris Stubblefield, and I’m the founder and owner of Stubblefield Construction LLC. As a second-generation builder, I focus exclusively on crafting new homes that reflect both quality and innovation. My construction journey began with my father, who ran highway and government projects across the Midwest for Cyclone Fence. He taught me how to read blueprints, manage projects, and lead teams. By 24, I had passed my first General Contractor exam. Since then, I have completed more than 160 hours of continuing education. Today, the State Licensing Board of Tennessee considers me an expert in the field.
Over the years, I’ve held various roles that strengthened my business acumen and industry knowledge. After working independently for a time, I became the CTO and license holder for a Tampa-based startup specialty contractor. When that company sold, I moved on to serve as both an estimator and business development coordinator for a large union contractor in Chicago, expanding their bidding and contracting operations into multiple states.
Eventually, I returned to Tennessee to pursue my passion for designing and building custom homes. In those early days, I supplemented my income by working part-time for the State of Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors as a part-time Inspector—evaluating and resolving complaints against contractors. Through this experience, I noticed two common issues in new home construction: poor communication and budget overruns on cost-plus projects. To address these concerns, I implemented an online app that keeps clients informed about every detail of their build, and I also offer fixed-price contracts to eliminate surprises.
I’m fortunate to have a dedicated team in the office and an incredible group of subcontractors who consistently deliver outstanding results. If you ever have a question, encounter a problem, or want to make a change to your home design, you can always reach me directly. My goal is to ensure your home-building experience is collaborative, budgeted, and tailored to your vision.
